Hello, internet stranger,
and welcome to letters from nabiu, a newsletter that serves as the messenger1 of my new garden about the internet, websites, design, and everything in between.
I’m Núria, I’m a designer and artist who uses (mainly!) the web as a medium. The past weeks, I’ve been rethinking and quietly building my new website differently. For it to be lighter, and at the same time, able to grow and hold more.
My aim is for it to become a growing space to share reflections, learnings, ideas, creations, thoughts… around the topics that most interest me about the art of designing and building spaces on the web, while trying to help those who stumble across it, and leaving perfection at the door.
I don’t know yet exactly what shapes my new website, its garden and this newsletter will take. But the point is for them to grow on their own and take the shapes the naturally crave. I do know that I want these spaces to feel like quiet, cozy, refreshing corners of the internet that form a little world to explore.
So far, the garden has four plants:
🍃 Imagining a website for a yoga studio: If I had a yoga studio, how would I want my website to be?
🍃 My website's evolution: from channel to cozy home: 3 years of redesigns
🍃 On trying to look professional: About the pressure to “look professional” and learning to let it go
🍃 Can we share and connect online, without social media?: Thinking about social media and pondering this needed question
Some notes and sketches
This redesign involves embracing the humanness of my work, letting go of perfectionism and incorporating other creative interests of mine as well, to express myself through this project more personally and naturally, and more aligned with me.
And that starts with drawing little illustrations for the site and newsletter by hand, even if they aren’t perfect.
More coming soon,
thank you for reading.
(I’m glad you’re here!)
Núria.
